All across Italy we have been in search of wineries that embellish the world of wines. In the heart of Asti, set on top of hills made up of white soil, Cascina Gilli impressed us with its variety of wines. These prove eminently enjoyable, true to their individual grape. For example, both Freisas tasted IL FORNO and ARVELE’, the spicy expressiveness and high resolution of the sip amazed us. The innervated citrus juice and the penetrance, in particular, of Freisa d’Asti Superiore DOC Arvelé, on the other hand, suggest a good potential in terms of ageing.
Arriving at the real news, at least for us, we found jovial and happy beyond belief the taste of Nebbiolo “Notturno” Albugnano DOC Superiore, of whose joyful expressiveness, indeed, in which participates the Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco: a sweet and yet very easy wine, moving in the balance of its parts. The company also arouses our interest because, since 2019, a join venture is underway with the Swedish art gallery Nevven, of which it becomes the summer residence. It therefore seems essential to us at least one visit, to touch the installations and site-specific works of art and see, in its natural habitat, the artist label signed by Charlott Weise”.
